DT Inspiration IQCG #29 Incredible India - Tricolour Jwellery Box With Quilled Lotus

Hello Quillers,

Here is my take on this month's challenge theme - "Incredible India". I have made a jwellery box, having the same colour combination as our proud TRICOLOUR. I have topped it with a quilled lotus - our National flower.

I have made a four-flapped jwellery box which is open on one of it's side edges and then folds in a rectangular box, I have then decorated all the edges with flat-back pearls. I added a quilled lotus on the box-lid.

3D stickers ranging from butterflies to love quotes were used to decorate all the sides as well.

As you all ready know that the challenge for you this month is to create something that represents our country, national symbol, flag etc.  You can create anything and everything but it should have quilling in it and should be related to the theme so that it can be termed as valid entry.

Click HERE to enter your creation in the challenge. Just last couple of days left to participate in our challenge so what are you waiting for?

Happy Quilling...

DT Inspiration IQCG #29 Incredible India - Quilled Rupee symbol

Hello everyone,
Happy independence day to IQCG fans!!!
Here is my Inspirational post on the current challenge "Incredible India" in our IQCG blog.

Please click the below link to view the challenge details and link your projects.

I have created a Quillography style rupee symbol and flowers to accompany it.

Find the challenge pic here:

About my work:
I started with drawing the outline of the rupee symbol and quilled the outline with black crimped strips of 5mm. It is then filled with black acrylic paint and filled with saffron , white , blue and green dots over it. Quillography style flowers in black are then quilled in different sizes and added here and there to decorate the symbol. The centre of the flowers are done using punching machine in tri colour strips.

Hope everyone like my work.. Please do take part in the challenge abiding the rules properly to avoid disqualification.

Wishing you all good luck,
Aparna Balakrishnan (DT).

DT Inspiration IQCG #29 Incredible India

The Indian National Pledge talks about unity in diversity and its rich and varied heritage which has been possible, only due to the struggle of many a freedom fighters. Nothing inspires patriotism more than the tricolor flag. The sacrifice and the bloodshed, in varying proportions, spanned the length and breadth of the country.

I have tried to depict this through a collage of the greatest leader this wonderful nation has had. A collage in warm tones finished off with quilled curls. An homage to the patriotism of an era gone by.

IQCG # 29 - Incredible India is to create something that represents our country, our flag colours, our national symbols, culture etc. Whatever you like !

Looking forward to your participation and waiting to see some beautiful projects!!
