Aditi
I am born and brought up in Bhilai (Chattisgarh). I did my engineering from Govt Engg College, Jabalpur and did my masters in Engg from BITS Pilani. I was in Ahmedabad from 2003 to 2008. There I worked for 5 years in a telecom software startup (Varaha Systems). In 2008 we moved to Hyderabad. Because of kids I left the job and decided to be with them. Then that time I came across ‘quilling’ word. I got to know that it is a type of craft work. I am mostly aware of all forms of art and craft but this word ‘quilling’ was very new to me. I researched and found so many lovely things which can be done using quilling. It was so fascinating to see that what all can be made with paper strips. From that point there is no turning back.

Smita
My idea of giving some time for myself is to spend time with paper, glue,my tools and now jewellery supplies.I love experimenting and learning new crafts and to be frank I design my stuff when I go to sleep or when I am cooking. As a child I was always keen in making cards for friends and family.I used to find new techniques to make others feel special on their day.Always wanted to be a good Artist and crafter. With the support of family I have been making time for my passion with 2 kids around..
I enjoy Rangoli making, sketching, painting(on my to do list),jewellery making, polymer clay, glass painting, paper quilling and last but not the least cardmaking/scrapbooking/

Stamping.I hope in future as well I continue to learn and experiment with new crafting techniques everyday.
Shruti
Hello! My name is Shruti, I am so glad to be a part of the Indian quilling challenge Design Team. I am from the city beautiful ' Chandigarh' but currently stay in Bangalore. I discovered my quilling talent in April ' 2010 when I had to quit my job and move with my husband to the States, And since then there has been no looking back.  There are two reasons why I love to quill - since it requires a lot of patience to make a perfect quilled pattern , it helps me slow down, relax and be a peace with myself and secondly coz I love being a part of someones memories and more so love the happy Thank you's that I receive back!

Megha
Hi, I am Megha Jain. I am a curious homemaker (SAHM in joint family). I call myself curious, as I soon get curious about things. I try to learn new things out of curiosity. I try to find and clear my concept each and every time. My family calls me crazy. However, I call myself a learner, as I feel that every second of our life we learn something new.
Crafting has been my passion since childhood. I don't remember from which age, but my mom recalls, that I have been drawing before I joined my preschool. In my school, I was almost always a first place winner in drawing. I used to make cards from childhood and gift on birthdays etc.
I keep changing my hobbies.. My kids have grown, and now I have a lot of free time.. which took me again to my favourite work. From two years, I am interested in paper crafting. I am loving every bit of it. I love making cards, envelopes, quilled projects, scrapbooks... any anything related to paper craft.I am really thankful to my hubby and family who has always given me their full support.

Jovita

Hi. I am Jovita Dsouza from Mumbai. I would like to thank shyla for this opportunity to design for the Indian quilling challenges. I have been closely associated with IQC since it's initiation. And it gives me great pleasure to now join as a DT member.
After dabbling in the field of accounts for many years. I decided to give my creative streak a thought. What started as a hobby has now become my full time profession.
I enjoy all kind of craft work but quilling has a special place in my heart. I love to make cards, albums scrapbooks. And I try yo incorporate quilling as much as possible in my work. I do hope through the IQC we can work together to grow and promote the art of quilling. Cheers

Final DT Post- My inspitration for DT Special Challenge

Heya
This is Dr Pratyusha from Pratvam Progs.

This will be my last post as Design team member for the IQCG. The theme which was chosen by the DT's is 'Anything goes with flower and bling' which is a month long challenge,

So I have been making quite a few monograms recently.
Thus the idea to combine various mediums including quilling for making a monogram.

So here's what I made....
I made a monogram 'S'. The base is MDF of 6inches. Mixed media techniques have been used. I really love the textures that have been produced here. The background colours are Viva Decor Pastes which give a perfect finish and blend well with each other... I have also used some gesso and testure paste for the background. Alcohol inks have been used to highlighten the edges of the quilled motifs.

Once I pasted the quilled shapes in the way I wanted. I went over them with gesso. Using the gesso helped me cover up the original colour of the strips and also let me mist them with Lindy's stamp gang sprays.
Used kaisercraft and prima stamps.... the butterfly stamp is from itsy bitsy.
The name is written on cardstock and it is misted with Lindy's spray to coordainte with the background. The corners are decorated with rhinestones.
And lastly I used gold paste and silver of the Viva decor to define the quilled shapes and the texture a bit more....

The Final Product

Close ups of the quilled shapes. Roses, Hollow flowers and tight marquise shapes.

Hope I have inspired you enough as you have a few more days to go before we close up the entries to this final challenge after which IQCG will go on break :)

Looking forward to see your entries :)

P S- It was a great experience for me posting my work as DT inspirations.
Now finally even I will get to participate in some :) :P

Lots of love and Hugs
Pratyusha

Indian Quilling Challenge #11 - flowers with a bling

Hello friends,

This is my last post as DT member of IQCG. It was a wonderful journey for me. I had an opportunity to showcase my work as well enjoy the wonderful quilling work done by others.

This challenge is flowers with bling - pearls, rhinestones, glitter etc. Since it is nearing Christmas I made a card for the occasion. I added a touch of glitter and rhinestones on the crisscross background pattern ( it is not clearly visible) and pearls in the flowers.

Hope you like my work. Thanks to other DT members and our admin for the support extended.

Happy quilling. :)

Hi friends,
Hope you all are having a good time.
This is the 11th and final post of mine as a DT member in IQC.
The journey was truly memorable.I got to learn more in this 6 months of time. With a new born and a toddler at home, i sometimes found it difficult to cope up with time schedule.Being a cooperative person, Shylaa made the task easy for me.
November month challenge is DT special - Flowers and Bling.
I made a Paper quilled Photo frame for the same.
Have a look.

And a closer look at the flowers..

Hope you all enjoyed my works.
Best wishes to all lovely crafters out there.

Happy Quilling!!
